In the Previous Article we saw the Step by Step Process to attain the PMI ACP Certification. Lets look at the contents of the ACP Exam next.
The Web site of project management institute, contains the ‘PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Examination Content Outline’ which describes the topics covered in the exam.
Like I mentioned before, the exam has 120 multiple-choice questions. Only 100 questions will be evaluated for scoring purpose. The remaining 20 are pre-test questions that will be randomly distributed in the question paper.
There are two main Content Areas in the Exam with each having a 50% weightage
- Agile Tools and Techniques
- Agile Knowledge and Skills
As someone who successfully passed the ACP Exam in the first attempt in May 2017, I will be adding some useful pointers & tips (like this one) in articles. Try to keep them in mind and they will definitely help you pass the exam.
We will be covering all of the topics that comprise these two content areas in this series.
Agile Tools and Techniques (50% of the Exam)
The ACP exam will test your knowledge of the Tools and Techniques that are used while managing Agile Projects that cover the following areas:

- Analysis & Design (of Requirements)
- Quality
- Soft Skills
- Value Based Prioritization
- Risk Management
Agile Knowledge and Skills (50% of the Exam)
The ACP exam will also test your Agile Knowledge and Skills. These skills are categorized into 3 levels and each has a separate weightage among this 50%.
- Level 1 – 65%
- Level 2 – 25%
- Level 3 – 10%
